Fresh Start.

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!   Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

Telling God about my day isn’t hard…its including Him in my day that’s tough. Believe it or not, sometimes…sometimes I don’t have a great day. Sometimes I feel discouraged. Sad. Upset because things aren’t going the way I want them to. Lonely.  Annoyed.  Stressed.  Angry. Disappointed.

These feelings are all a part of life and I can’t avoid it, but I do have a Creator who loves me and wants me to realize that He’s got it all under control.  Even tho sometimes I feel {like these broken, decaying windows pictured above} that I can try to ‘fix’ one of them, but know I am overwhelmed by the dozens of broken windows still left for me to ‘patch up. Who am I kidding? I can’t expect to fix these things in my life. It would be like using dry sand to put back together broken pieces of glass.

God is the only one who can replenish my spirit. He’s the only one that can put me back together, and thankfully I’m put back together with shiny, new pieces. Praise God we have a chance to have a clean slate. The bible says that His mercies are brand new every morning! {Lamentation 3} He will make this ‘broken window’ brand new tomorrow, no sand needed. I get a new shiny window reflecting His mercy and grace everyday.

So no matter how I’m feeling on any given day, I can rest in His presence and His peace will guard my mind and heart. All of the things that trouble me won’t have a stronghold on my spirit, because even though we should always be joyful and thankful in everything, its hard to be sometimes. But I know that He is always with me.

And with each day, I get a fresh start.
